JJM Program Scale
Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) targets piped water supply to every rural household by 2024–25, with ₹3.6 lakh crore national allocation. Madhya Pradesh alone targets 5.3 crore household connections — creating massive demand for HDPE/DI pipeline laying, chamber construction, and pump house civil works.
Civil Scope Breakdown
Typical JJM village scheme civil works include: trench excavation (600–900mm depth), HDPE pipe laying (63mm–200mm diameter), valve chamber construction, overhead tank foundations, and road restoration. Average village scheme civil value: ₹15–40 lakh.
State-Wise Opportunity
MP: highest volume, managed through MPJJM and district Jal Nigam. Rajasthan: large arid-zone schemes with longer pipeline runs. Gujarat: advanced implementation with quality-focused specifications. Chhattisgarh: growing pipeline with tribal area access challenges.
Qualification Requirements
State JJM guidelines require contractors to have prior water supply project experience, minimum turnover, and registered GST/PAN. Subcontractors to main JJM contractors need valid labour licenses, PPE compliance, and hydrostatic testing capability.
